MT Fitness was established in 2020. After many years of training clients in other gyms, owner and head trainer Maggie Twardowski recognized the need for a local fitness studio that focused on both performance and play. Her goal was to build a close-knit community where people of all fitness levels could train in a fun, supportive, and addictive environment. Rooted in the belief that a bit of tough love can drive remarkable results, the approach at MT Fitness is both empowering and challenging, pushing clients beyond their perceived limits. From day one, the mission at MT Fitness has been to help each client achieve their personal fitness goals, build confidence, and reach their fullest potential.

MAGGIE TWARDOWSKI
OWNER & HEAD TRAINER
Maggie is a lifelong sports and fitness enthusiast from St. Louis. After years of training clients in other gyms, she founded MT Fitness in 2020 when she recognized the need for a more supportive, fun, and personalized local fitness studio.
Maggie earned a degree in Kinesiology from Texas Christian University and holds personal training certifications through American Council on Exercise (ACE) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). She is also certified as a Weight Management Specialist (ACE) and Fitness Nutrition Specialist (ACE).
During her time as a trainer, Maggie has conducted more than 10,000 training sessions with clients across all age ranges and fitness levels. Expect a healthy dose of Tough Love during Maggie's one-of-a-kind, dynamic workouts.

Tanner is passionate about living a healthy, balanced lifestyle and helping his MT Fitness clients do the same. A graduate of Adams State University, Tanner earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Therapy while playing on the D2 lacrosse team.
After college, Tanner continued his wellness journey when he earned his Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certificate from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and his Functional Nutrition Counseling Certificate through the Functional Nutrition Alliance.
In addition to empowering his client at MT Fitness, Tanner coaches football and lacrosse at MICDS and Project Missouri.

NIKKI FINKENTHAL

GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
Nikki is no stranger to an active lifestyle. Growing up as a competitive dancer and lacrosse player, she fell in love with all things health and fitness at a young age. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Kinesiology from Miami University.
In 2017, Nikki became a registered dietician and earned a Master's Degree in Multidisciplinary Health. She later moved to St. Louis where she began teaching group fitness classes and personal training. In 2021, Nikki opened Better Balance, a consulting practice that provides individualized health and nutrition support.
Through her creative programming, Nikki inspires MT Fitness clients to reach their fitness goals and be their healthiest selves.

Betty has always been athletic, but when she became a mom, she realized the importance of incorporating strength training into her daily life. She became a avid participant in group fitness classes, enjoying the sense of community they offered.
After years of working out at various studios, Betty fell in love with MT Fitness and decided to become a fitness instructor herself. She holds a group fitness certification through the American Council of Exercise (ACE).
Betty is passionate about supporting those that are new to the fitness world, and pushes all of her clients to challenge themselves, love their bodies, and achieve their personal best.

JULIE O'TOOLE

Julie was born and raised in St. Louis. She started running during her college days in California, which soon led to marathons and races. Her enthusiasm for running helped to fuel her lifelong passion for all things mind, body, and spiritual wellness.
Following years of weight training intermittently, Julie decided to make it a lifetime commitment after she began training with Maggie at MT Fitness. Before long, she decided to take her fitness journey to the next level and became a certified group fitness instructor through American Council of Exercise (ACE).
Julie was born to help others feel their very best. Her positive energy is contagious and she will be your biggest cheerleader and wellness advocate!

OLIVIA SAUER

Born and raised in St. Louis, Olivia began playing sports at a young age and always loved being active. With time, that passion for fitness never faded and she eventually earned her group fitness certification through the American Council of Exercise (ACE).
Having been an original member at MT Fitness since its opening in 2020, Olivia eventually decided to partake in TLC classes from behind the microphone.
Classes with Olivia are always unique, effective, and fun! She is eager to help clients discover their peak fitness potential and encourage them to achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Joy grew up in St. Louis and earned a degree in nursing at Texas Christian University.
Exercise was not a significant part of Joy's life until she first stepped foot into MT Fitness in 2021. Since then, she has lost over 30 pounds and has grown to love exercise.
As the Gym Manager, she oversees the behind-the-scenes efforts to provide clients with the very best experience each and every time they walk into MT Fitness. From meticulously cleaning the gym, to filming studio footage, and every task in between, Joy keeps the Tough Love machine in motion.
